When: February 4th, 2022 Location: ALL VIRTUAL The 15th annual UCD Graduate Student Symposium in Ecology (GSSE) will be held on Friday, February 4th, 2022. Due to the novel surge in COVID-19 infections and fluid status of campus operations, we will be holding the Symposium in an all virtual format this year. Links will be emailed to registered attendees. Registration is now open! If you are presenting a talk or poster or submitting artwork, please register by January 31st. We are honored to welcome Dr. Angelica Patterson as our keynote speaker! “Angelica Patterson is a plant ecologist questing to understand how natural communities shift and respond to climate change. Angelica received her B.S. degree in Natural Resources from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and her M.A., M.Phil, and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University in plant ecophysiology.” “Angelica is a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the environmental sciences and has served on various committee and working groups. She has also spoken to audiences at several US universities, environmental organizations, and K-12 institutions. Angelica is currently serving as the Master Science Educator at Black Rock Forest in New York.” From her website, Angelica Patterson | The Shotgun Scientist To Submit an Oral Presentation or Poster: enter your title and abstract on page two of the registration form. Prizes will be awarded to the top presentations based on audience vote. Eco-Art and Photo Contest: Submit your ecologically-inspired work to the art/photo contest by entering the information on page three of the registration form. Prizes will be awarded to the attendee favorites. Artwork can be constructed in any medium, but submissions must be in photo / image / video format to share virtually.
