Join us for the 15th Annual UC Davis Graduate Student Symposium in Ecology!
When: February 4th, 2022
Location: 3001 Plant & Environmental Sci. Bldg., and virtual (details on hybrid format TBA)

The 15th annual UCD Graduate Student Symposium in Ecology (GSSE) will be held on Friday, February 4th, 2022. The 2022 Symposium will have a hybrid format to better accommodate all participants during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. We will update with further details soon.

Registration is now open! Please complete the registration form if you plan to attend any part of the Symposium either virtually or in-person. Please also complete the registration form if you plan to present research (oral or poster). It is best to register by January 31st (late registrations accepted, early submissions encouraged!).

To Submit an Oral Presentation or Poster: You do not need to present research in order to attend, but presenting at the symposium is a great way to get feedback in a low pressure environment! To submit a presentation, enter your title and abstract on page two of the registration form. Prizes will be awarded to the top presentations based on audience vote.

Eco-Art and Photo Contest: Submit your ecologically-inspired work to the art/photo contest by entering the information on page three of the registration form. Prizes will be awarded to the attendee favorites. As format allows, submitted artwork will be shared virtually and in person.

More details coming soon! Please stay tuned for details on the Diversity Committee sessions and this year's keynote speaker. We have been honored to host excellent keynote speakers at this event including: Dr. Christopher Schell (UC Berkeley), Dr. Mehana Vaughan (U Hawai`i Manoa), and Dr. Asmeret Asefaw Berhe (UC Merced).

Please contact this year's GSSE Chairs Mickie Tang and David Mitchell with any questions!

    About

EGSA’s annual Graduate Student Symposium in Ecology (GSSE) is a unique forum for sharing research ideas across graduate programs, departments, and labs, and fostering new collaborations. With at least 17 graduate programs and departments at UC Davis that conduct ecological research, the Graduate Student Symposium in Ecology provides an ideal place for graduate students to practice giving scientific presentations to the broader ecological community on campus. Each year the symposium features talks and posters from UC Davis graduate students working in any field of ecology, a prominent, student-nominated ecologist as keynote speaker, and a photo contest.
